"Modern Mediterranean cuisine."
A TASTE OF SUNSHINE AT SOFITEL BRUSSELS LE LOUISE
Brussels, 21st march 2012 – Sofitel Brussels Le Louise is proud to present the new head chef of its gourmet restaurant: the renowned Adwin Fontein.
Accessible elegance
Adwin Fontein is a man with a passion who always aims to discover new taste sensations. For the past 25 years he has been adding dishes from across the globe to his menu, from Asian flavours to delicious Mediterranean touches, all of which can also be found on the Crystal Lounge menu.
Adwin Fontein is a perfectionist committed to his work. He pays attention not only to the quality of his ingredients, but also to the presentation of the dishes, which are served in glass tableware, fully in line with the style of the Crystal Lounge restaurant. Fontein knows only too well that the art of cooking is a process of exchange, and therefore he welcomes his customers’ suggestions, which he sees as opportunities to improve his skills and further elaborate his menu.
In a trendy interior by famous architect Antoine Pinto art and design aficionados can savour a delicious gourmet meal in the luxurious and feminine atmosphere of a “modern boudoir”. The chocolate-coloured walls, the amethyst accents and the enormous, comfortable chairs in warm shades combined with wengé wood furnishings all invite you to briefly leave the hustle and bustle of the city – just a few floors below the gourmet lovers’ feet – behind. Lounge music and dimmed lights provide the finishing touch in this cocoon where you can enjoy some well-deserved “me time”.
During events and throughout the summer (from April onwards) the restaurant boasts an exceptionally beautiful terrace, also designed by Antoine Pinto and equipped with design furniture and completely transparent decorative elements. The garden is a relaxing oasis of flowers and plants, and also features a heated smoking area.
The Crystal Lounge bar, which perfectly matches the relaxed elegance of Sofitel Le Louise, offers a menu of soft drinks and cocktails reminiscent of those served at the best establishments in Brussels, as well as a selection of tapas. This is the place to go for an informal, relaxed and tasty break.
The not-to-be-missed highlight of a weekend of Brussels-style “savoir-vivre” is the Sunday brunch, which is ideal for loved-up couples and families looking to enjoy a tasty meal in a relaxed setting. There is a kids’ corner with games and animation, as well as a special free “Kids’ Menu” with children’s classics – a buffet with mini hotdogs and nuggets – in a new version accompanied by “haute-cuisine sauces”. No one will be able to resist the amazing selection of verrines and smoothies: a must for all gourmet lovers alike, but without pretentions. Of course you can also enjoy the traditional assortment of pastries, bread and cheeses with dried fruits, as well as an irresistible tray of mouth-watering cakes and sweets.
