Expo Fashion Stills Grand Opening

Polka is the ambassador of photography and photojournalism. Building on its successful photo exhibitions showed in France, Polka goes abroad to present « Fashion Stills / Si la mode m’était contée » in association with Sofitel Luxury Hotels.

This first touring exhibition is hosted in 2010 by 10 Sofitel and celebrates fashion in 5 European capitals and 5 North American cities. The exhibition starts with simultaneous previews in New York and London on February, 9th.

Four star photographers represented by Polka Galerie, Derek Hudson, Cathleen Naundorf, Jean-Marie Périer and Gérard Uféras, immortalise emblematic faces of the fashion runway and capture uniques instants from the secret world of Haute Couture, behind the scenes at Dior, Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Yves Saint Laurent... on fascinating photographs choosen for their quality, their truth, their strength.

As an ambassador of French culture and elegance Sofitel Luxury Hotels is the perfect host for receiving « Fashion Stills / Si la mode m’était contée ». From the slender elegance of Gérard Uféras’ models to the intimists snapshots of Derek Hudson, from Cathleen Naundorf’s wrought and vaporous polaroids to Jean Marie Périer’s eccentric poses with the greatest fashion designers, the four photographers tell the enigmatic and sensual world that is fashion.
